Collection: Peeking Through

This collection was created with black tea, India ink, and colored pencil. The concept is there are two sides to everyone. The side we share with everyone else. It's colorful and bright. It wants to stand out and be notice. This is represented by the colored pencil. The other side is the one only we see. Sometimes it's sad and lonely or quite and reserved. It's the inner self that not many people get to see. This is represented by the ink drawing.

7 of these works were created from photographs that I took on a family trip to Linville Falls. The Linville Gorge is full of beautiful bright flowers. I grew up visiting the North Carolina mountains with my grandparents and parents every year. We would explore and have picnics. These 7 flowers and the style I used represent the light and airy country mountain girl that I tend to hide and the serious rational girl that everyone believes me to be.
