This insect inspired fly was drawn in colored pencil, hand cut out, and attached with fishing line into a foam box I hand built. The background and walls of foam box are painted with green and yellow India Ink.
The fly is an effective, buoyant dray fly. It's bright colors increase its visibility and helps it imitate mayflies, caddis, or terrestrials in NC mountain streams.
