Woolly Bugger Fly

This insect inspired fly was drawn in colored pencil, hand cut out, and attached with fishing line into a foam box I hand built. The background and walls of foam box are painted with blue India Ink.

This fly is very effective for smallmouth bass fishing in mountain streams of NC. Black, brown, or olive in color, these flies imitate hellgrammites, batfish, or leeches near the bottom of the stream.
